Privacy policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
The short version. Your photos are used only to make your results. Photos you upload to a single tool are deleted within a day; your photo set and everything you make are deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you ask. We never use your photos to train any model. Many of the free tools run entirely in your browser, so those photos never leave your device. We don’t sell your data or show you ads.
Who we are
Studio Day is made by PIE Drops Studio, a business registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (BN 9218642), at No. 2, Ary Gold Street, Dogongada, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. We decide how your data is used, and we’re responsible for it. If you have a question about anything here, or want to use any of the rights below, email hello@piedrops.com.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, to send you sign-in links and receipts. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. A cookie keeps you signed in; we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it, so it can’t be reused from our records.
Photos and files you upload, and what you make
The photos of yourself you add for the “photos of you” tools (your photo set), single photos you edit, video clips, songs and the areas you paint over, and the pictures and videos you make from them.
What our checks read from your photos
For the tools that make new pictures of you, each photo is checked to show one person, and a vision model notes descriptive details (an approximate age range, skin tone, build, hair and facial features) so your results stay true to you. These notes are kept with your photo set and deleted with it. They are never used to identify you or for anything else. Results are also checked for sexual content on our own servers before you see them.
Purchases
Which credit pack you bought, when, and for how much, and the reference our payment provider gives you. Payments are handled by Bachs; we never see your card or bank details.
How the site is used
Pages visited and what happens in a tool: a file chosen, a result made and whether it worked, a download, a sign-in link sent, a checkout started. Never your photos, file names, email address or anything you type. This is collected by PostHog on its servers in the EU, without cookies and without storing anything on your device. PostHog works out an approximate location (country and city) from your IP address and then discards the address. If you’re signed in, it’s linked to your account number, not your name or email.
Technical details
Your IP address and browser details, used briefly to stop abuse (rate limits and the bot check at sign-in) and kept for a short time in our server logs.
Tools that never upload anything
These run entirely in your browser, and the photos you use in them never reach us: remove background, passport and ID photos, HEIC to JPG, photo upscaler, film filter, blur background, collage maker, double exposure, photo scanner, blur faces, vectorise, face shape, colour analysis and best photo picker. Some of them download their model the first time you use them (from our site or from Hugging Face); that download carries no photo.
How long we keep it
- Photos and files uploaded to a single tool (edits, the free video and audio tools, slideshows, remove objects): deleted within 24 hours.
- Your photo set, and everything made from it: 30 days from when you added it, or as soon as you delete it.
- Other results in your Library: 30 days, or as soon as you delete them.
- Your account: until you delete it. Deleting it removes your photos and results within the hour, then the account itself.
- One exception: after you delete your account we keep a one-way scrambled form of your email address, only so the free starting credits can’t be claimed twice. It can’t be turned back into your address.
- Purchase records: as long as accounting law requires.
Who else handles your data
Only the companies that run parts of the service for us, each for that part alone:
- Railway runs our servers, database and file storage, in the EU (the Netherlands).
- Kie.ai provides the AI models for the paid tools. When you use one, the photos it needs are sent to make your result, and for the photo checks above. No free tool uses it.
- Bachs processes payments.
- Resend sends sign-in links and receipts.
- Cloudflare runs the bot check (Turnstile) on the sign-in form.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- PostHog records how the site is used, as described above.
Some of these are outside your country, including outside the EU; where that happens, data is moved under the safeguards the law requires. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. If you arrive through a friend’s invite link, another remembers who invited you for 30 days. The bot check on the sign-in form may set cookies it needs to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
- Delete any result or your photo set at any time, from your Library or the photos page.
- Delete your account from Account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, by emailing hello@piedrops.com. We’ll answer within a month.
- If you think we’ve handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Studio Day is for adults. Don’t create an account if you’re under 18, and don’t upload photos of children.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and its date. If a change matters, we’ll also tell you by email before it applies.
